You can use this expiration date for whatever you need; for example, it could be for annual membership to the center… or something else. This expiration can be activated or deactivated. When activated, the option to assign a date will appear in the user profiles.
This feature has a close relationship between the general preference settings (see below) and the settings of the activities that are published.
Let’s start with a fairly common use case:
“In my center, annual membership is required to participate in activities, so I don’t want a client to be able to sign up for activities that begin after the expiration of their membership unless they’ve renewed it.”
We’ll modify the settings by entering the Settings / Global Booking Options menu, where you have the option to activate the use of the custom expiration date.
Set the Custom Expiration as mandatory.
For each customer, I input the membership expiration as a custom expiration date:
With these settings, clients with an expired or unset date won’t be able to register for published activities.
“But what if, for promotional reasons, I wanted to create activities that don’t require a custom expiration date?”
Here’s where the specific option in the activity data comes in handy. By enabling the option shown in the image, you allow the system to ignore the custom expiration and let users with expired memberships register for these activities.
